Taking Flight is the fifth book in the Legends of Ethshar series, coming immediately after The Blood of a Dragon and before The Spell of the Black Dagger. Possibly the least epic of the Ethshar novels, it's the story of a young man who sets out in pursuit of fortune and adventure, and becomes involved with a mysterious winged girl named Irith the Flyer.
