Javan was one of the finest research wizards in history creating numerous spells and pushing the boundaries of theoretical wizardry until he became permanently unable to cast any but a select few spells.

Javan had started looking for ways to get rid of all the rituals and magic words and rare ingredients to work wizardry. He wanted to find some way to get right at the underlaying chaos. If the ingredients are just symbols for something in the underlying chaos, Javan theorized that wizards could use symbols of symbols. His attempts produced the first and second Augmentation of Magical Memory.
