Cauthen’s Remarkable Love Spell is a wizard spell which creates a potion containing some trace of one party — a hair, a drop of sweat or blood, almost anything. When someone drinks the potion the person from which the trace ingredient came becomes subject to the enchantment; the spell taking effect when the subject next sees, hears, or smells whoever drank it. The spell works on a single individual, and the wizard must be careful that none of their own hair or sweat fell into the mixture.

	That pattern wrapped itself around the vial that held the potion and gradually shrank inward, until at last it passed through the glass and into the liquid within. As Kilisha spoke the final word of the spell, a triumphant "Ahmwor!," she raised her dagger high, and the potion flashed pale blue. Before the flash the liquid had been murky and dull red; after the flash it was sparkling pink. ... "It's sweet," she said. "I thought it would taste foul." "Love is sweet," Kilisha said. "At least, that's what the master told Klurea," she added hastily. "I wouldn't know, myself."

1. The victim must drink a full cup of virgin's blood each night, at midnight, for four nights, without spilling a drop, or choking, or throwing up. They must then go to sleep immediately afterward; if they speak a word or set foot on the ground the countercharm is spoiled. All the blood has to come from a single fertile virgin human female who has never been enchanted, no mixing blood from different sources.
